Kind Words

There are many references to the power of the spoken word in the Bible. God is clear that our words are to be for encouragement and enlightenment. Blessings.

<voices with kind words>

Kind words go upwards to heights we can't hear

And good words are treasures to God's listening ear

Speak wisdom, compassion, encouragement, praise

Let our words bless others, all of our days

Apples of gold in settings of silver

Angels rejoice as kind words deliver

A smile to His face and a tear to His eye

As we share His love with those we pass by

Two of the things that should set us apart

Are the words of our mouth and the joy in our heart

So why would you choose, to bring others down

When kind words can place a jewel in your crown

Not all words are kind as they fly in your face

Just keep this in mind as they’re on your case

It’s not about winning, it’s not about pride

You’re being watched above and beside

You will be judged on how you react

Once words are spoken, you can’t take them back

(So) choose your words wisely, you'll see them again

As words do acquit you, they also condemn

Rekindle the kindness, He calls us to show

Seasoned with salt our words let others know

That we are His children, chosen by Him

Let kind words flow from His glory within

(echo till end)
